0 Creativity for all! – SPARC ArtMobile
ArtMobile creates a ‘SPARC’ of excitement in Massachusetts, USA
This week Creation Road discovered an article at Boston.com which absolutely amazed us about creativity and the community. We thought it would be perfect for our new ‘Creativity of all!’ feature
MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnership in Massachusetts has recently hit the streets in their new ArtMobile. There is no need to go and find an art centre with this van around.
The van, nicknamed SPARC, is stocked with all kinds of arts and craft supplies and brings it all to the community.
The centre works in collaboration with community organisations and schools to develop art projects and other creative activities.
The motto on the side of SPARC reads, ‘Igniting art and design in the neighbourhood’. Their plan is to bring art and creativity to the community rather than the community needing to visit an art institution.
SPARC truly has a community focus. An art competition saw the design of the van’s artwork and the unveiling of SPARC saw musician, painters, artists and community groups come together in celebration.
Congratulations to the MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnership for their innovation in bringing art to the community.
5 STARS!!
0 Creativity for all! New Creation Road blog feature
Here at Creation Road one of the things we’re interested in what’s happening creatively in communities around the world.
It’s wonderful when people can come together as part a community to create something, have a good time and meet new friends in the process.
Over the coming weeks we will be on the look out for community events, activities, ideas, and so on, which get people involved in creativity, artwork, performances etc. within their community.
Remember to come back and see what fantastic things we discover. If you know of something creative happening in your community, please feel to let us know about it. We’d love to hear from you. Email: community@creationroadblog.com
